Every now and then I wish I did research into movies before I watch them. This was one of those times. If you haven’t figured it out already, I’m not big into religous themed books and movies. I can handle the mention of God or bible verses, but the full religous theme is not for me.
This movie is is a based on the Bible story of Joseph. It is a low budget film with unbelievable acting, bad editing and a cringe-worthy plot. The writing isn’t bad – Dennis Roberts’ (Neil Schwalb) attitude of his naive younger brother, Joe Roberts (Evan Schwalb) and the pranks are spot on. Dennis and his friends are passive aggressive, and mean to Joey – actually beyond mean, abusive. The ultimate prank is a letter of introduction they forge to billionaire Howard Hughes asking him to find Joey a job. This send Joey on a wild goose chase to Las Vegas to meet Howard Hughes. Joey has to spend all of his summer savings to get to Vegas. People that Joey meets in Vegas are anything but honest – surprise, surprise. I couldn’t take any more of it, so I stopped there.
IMDB gave it a 6.5 out of 10 – I can’t fathom how that legitimately happened. I give it a 1.
