The Tuesday Post: Postcards used to smuggle drugs

jail-mail

Yes, you heard me right – they used postcards to smuggle drugs.  According to news sources, postcards soaked in a hallucinogenic drug similar to LSD were sent to a federal prison in Florida where inmates sold pieces of them to other inmates.  I’m not sure if I’m impressed by their ingenuity or horrified at the idea that someone is putting chemical soaked paper that has been through postal machines into their mouths.  Either way, I’m glad they were caught even though the Broward County Jail “Guidelines for Inmate Mail” does not list that sending/receiving drug soaked postcards is against the rules (thank you CBS for pointing that out).
